Plitvice Lakes National Park
Practical guide to Plitvice Lakes National Park: trails, ticket prices, opening hours, transport, parking, and online reservations.

About the Park
Plitvice Lakes National Park (Plitvička Jezera) is one of the oldest and most beautiful national parks in Europe, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Located in Croatia, it covers an area of 296.85 km². The park features 16 karst lakes interconnected by over 90 waterfalls. The largest waterfall – Veliki slap – is 78 meters high. The deepest lake, Kozjak, is around 46 meters deep.
Trails and Transport
The park offers several walking trails of various lengths and difficulty levels – from short, flat strolls to longer hikes with ascents. Electric boats operate on Lake Kozjak, and eco-friendly tourist trains serve several points across the park. A boat ride takes about 15 minutes, while the train ride varies from a few to several minutes depending on the route.
You can start and end your visit at the same point – for example, beginning at Entrance 1 and returning there using the boat and train. Each boat can carry approximately 100 passengers.
Opening Hours and Tickets
The park is open during the high season (May–September) from 07:00 to 20:00. The ticket includes access to walking trails, the boat ride, and the train ride.
Ticket Prices (season):
- Adults: €23 (1 day) / €39 (2 days)
